LAUREL HALO | Quarantine

I don’t know when or where i’m living now. I’m disoriented. New England’s weather confuses you: yesterday was sunny and summerish, today is grey and fallish. Not only the weather is strange, but your work too. You just finished an important part of your work, but now you got to jump in the next “epic” quest at the office. Oh! Don’t forget that feeling of “i deserve some vacations” that burns your insides, but you know that you won’t have them. You’re confused. You spread your cereal on your toasts and you put some jam in your coffee. You feel like surrounded by a fragile haze that ties you up and doesn’t allow you to think straight. You’re screwed, my friend. Well, you’d better accept it. However, there’re some little satisfactions. Satisfactions that feel like a huge “fuck you” to all the explained above. Personally, i use this ghastly clouds as atrezzo for my imagination and fuck them up with Quarantine. Quarantine is Laurel Halo‘s new work and first album, which will be out may 28th (in the UK, out in june in the US) via Hyperdub. Fortunately, you don’t have to wait to listen to it. You can stream the whole album and enjoy its atmospheres. You’ll dive into a more experimental and rawer work. Raw in a pure way. It’s simple and efective, while magical and real. It’s a memento for your teenage imagination and a huge “you ignorant twat” to your routine.
